The Caribbean's quiet corner.
Overview
Belize is small, and that’s the point. In ten days you can dive or snorkel the reef from Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker, then head inland to the Cayo district for caves, waterfalls and the ruins at Caracol and Xunantunich, and still have time for a night in the rainforest.
It combines neatly with Guatemala’s Tikal across the border, or with Mexico’s Yucatan to the north. English is the official language, the roads are manageable and the lodges are some of the best in Central America.
