The Gobi, the steppe, nomad families and the Naadam festival.
Overview
Mongolia is landscape and people. The Gobi’s dunes and the flaming cliffs where dinosaur eggs were found. The central steppe where nomad families move with the seasons and welcome you into their gers. Lake Khovsgol in the north, clear as glass with reindeer herders in the forests around it.
Travel is by 4×4 and small plane, nights are in ger camps, and the reward is a silence and a scale that exists almost nowhere else. Naadam in July, with wrestling, archery and horse racing, is the time to go if you can.

Things to do
The experiences worth building a trip around, chosen by consultants who've done them.

Go with a group
Travel with a small group and a local leader, with the route and experiences already brought together for you.
Make it yours
Use these group tours as inspiration. We can take the routes, activities and places you like and build a private tailor-made Mongolia holiday around you.
I joined Travel Nation in 2014 to look after group travel and weddings abroad.

We've been building tailor-made trips from our Brighton office since 2001. Here's what travelling to Mongolia with us actually means.
You'll be matched with a consultant who knows Mongolia and stays with you for your entire booking. No call centres and no repeating yourself.
